Introduction
We've recently been made aware that some Toshiba customers are being targeted by third-party companies claiming to supply replacement Toshiba toner cartridges. These calls are often made by people claiming to be Toshiba employees, using misleading sales tactics to persuade customers into paying highly inflated prices for toner that isn't genuine.
How the scam works
Scammers typically make contact by phone, email or invoice, falsely claiming an affiliation with Toshiba. They apply pressure to place an order quickly, often before you have a chance to verify who they really are. The toner they supply is not genuine Toshiba toner, no matter what they tell you.
How your toner is actually supplied
As part of your managed print agreement with us, toner for your Toshiba devices is supplied and replenished automatically; you should never need to order it yourself. Your devices are designed to work with genuine Toshiba toner only, and using non-genuine alternatives can lead to poor print quality, hardware damage, increased downtime and repair costs that may fall outside your service agreement.
Genuine Toshiba toner is supplied automatically as part of your managed print agreement.
What to do if you're contacted
If you receive a call, email or invoice relating to toner supplies, please don't place an order or make payment. Get in touch with your account manager so we can verify the request and help put a stop to it on your behalf.
